Is This A Preview Of Glenn Beck’s ‘Restoring Honor’ ‘I Have A Dream’ Speech?

Purely speculation on my part. I actually have no idea what Glenn Beck is planning for his Restoring Honor rally at the end of August. But I am willing to hazard a guess it will sound a lot like today’s long, strangely staged, operatic diatribe against, in the smaller sense, the media who called Fox News racist for their reporting on Shirley Sherrod, and in the larger sense progressives. Though when he announced we were at risk of establishing a “new earthly king” I admit I became a bit lost.

What is clear however, is that the Shirley Sherrod debacle could not have happened at a better time for Beck, who has planned this rally to coincide with the anniversary of Martin Luther King‘s ‘I Have A Dream Speech.’ After months of trying to place himself in the midst of the national conversation about race, such as it is (and with some success, it should be noted) the administration, in their apparent attempt to avoid him, has basically handed him a staring role in that conversation for the foreseeable future.
