Jake Tapper Responds to Cenk Uygur Rant with Praise and Disagreement

The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur‘s criticism of CNN host Jake Tapper has drawn a quick response from the veteran reporter, who defended his reporting on Twitter, but also had words of praise for the progressive firebreather. Although he slammed Uygur’s rant as uninformed and inaccurate, he also defended him to conservative critics, saying “frankly the world needs more progressive journos like @CenkUygur willing to criticize Dem party (same w/conservs/GOP).”

Tapper built a reputation as a tough questioner during his stints as campaign reporter and Chief White House Correspondent for ABC News, and is also famously responsive to his social media audience. Both of those qualities were on display in his Twitter response to Cenk’s rant:
