Jerry Jones Defends Christie Hug: He Brings the ‘Mojo’

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones took to the radio today to defend Chris Christie‘s Cowboys fandom and that supremely awkward hug both men were a part of.

In case you needed a reminder, here’s the hug in question:

See, it’s generally considered sacrilege in politics to support a team that isn’t from your home state (also, trash-talking other teams isn’t the best idea either), and Christie’s gotten some flak for it, with some even saying the hug made him look unpresidential.

In an appearance on 105.3 The Fan (out of Dallas/Ft. Worth) this morning, Jones defended Christie and his support for the Cowboys franchise. He said, “I met him through the Cowboys, and I’m excited about it. He’s part of our mojo. I want him there all the way.”

Yes, Jones said multiple times that Christie really brings the “mojo.” He even said, “If he’s got enough mojo to pull this thing out, he ought to be looked at as President of the United States.”

Oh, and as for the hug, Jones simply said they were just “expressing the joy of the moment.”
