Jindal Dismisses ‘White’ Portrait Dust-Up: Liberals ‘Obsessed by Race’

Last week there was a minor dust-up over this portrait of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, which, to put it bluntly, some people thought looked a bit whitened-up:

It’s not his official portrait, for the record.

Jindal laughed off the controversy and took a shot at liberals in general in reaction, talking at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast:

“I think this whole thing is silly. I think the left is obsessed by race. The dumbest thing we can do is try to divide people by the color of their skin. This is nonsense… Look, I know that any country… dividing people by the color of their skin… is one of the dumbest ways [for people to interact]. It’s time to move beyond this.”

Jindal also referenced the MSNBC guest who said the Republican governor is “trying to scrub some of the brown off his skin.”
