Kanye’s Summit With Trump Triggers Social Media Eruption: ‘Wildest Oval Office Event I’ve Ever Seen’

The Twitterverse was clearly not prepared for the bottomless insanity that resulted from President Donald Trump‘s meeting today with Kanye West.
Even though the summit was bound to be media spectacle by default, it ended up going in all sorts of strange directions as West showered Trump with praise, proposed a litany of ideas, and waxed on and on about his…unique perspectives on various issues. As such, political observers had a LOT to say.
Some people were taken aback by the part where West allowed his iPhone passcode to be broadcast on live TV.

.@Snowden quick question:
Is there ever a situation in which it is a good idea from an OpSec perspective to have a non-USG employee who appears to be close friends with POTUS display his phone password live on TV (to say nothing of it being “000000”)?
Asking for a “friend”.

If you ever find Kanye’s cell phone, “000000” is the passcode to all the Kim nudes.https://t.co/bKg2g5TbS1 pic.twitter.com/EDQRw3TK3S

Kanye is, like, casually dropping major insights about how Trump tapped into masculine anxiety in America to win the presidency and everybody like OK BUT HIS IPHONE PASSWORD IS 00000

Well said Kanye. The shooting sports have always played a big part in my life. They teach responsibility, discipline, concentration and so much more. Good guys (who register, get licensed and own guns legally) are not the issue — Bad guys and criminals are! ?????? https://t.co/xPQBy0qNqm

And others just simply feaked out.

Today would be a good day for Kanye West to release his medical records.

A reminder that plenty of Trump advisors enabled and encouraged this mockery of the dignity of the Oval Office today https://t.co/qYzUSgKJui

Overheard in the White House press room after reporters left a rambling Oval Office pool spray with President Trump and Kanye West: “Working here is officially insane.”
— Andrew Restuccia (@AndrewRestuccia) October 11, 2018
Just when you think we can’t sink any lower, Kanye West is in the Oval Office talking to reporters. By the way, Mr. Trump, there was a really bad hurricane.

Sen. Flake, alone with his wireless earbuds on, is looking down into his phone and watching video of Kanye West in the Oval.
Walk over and pull him aside in the Senate basement.
“Reality meets reality television,” Flake tells me, shaking his head.
