Lanny Davis Hangs Up on Newsmax Host After Questions About Hillary Subpoena

In her first national TV interview since announcing her 2016 run, Hillary Clinton addressed the uproar surrounding her use of private email while she was Secretary of State. She insisted that she chose to turn over all those emails and that, contrary to what CNN’s Brianna Keilar said, she “never had a subpoena” over her emails.

The House Select Committee on Benghazi rebutted her the next day and said yes she did, and today Newsman TV’s Steve Malzberg confronted longtime Clinton surrogate Lanny Davis on the matter.

Davis insisted that Clinton was speaking in a particular context, of a time when she had not received a subpoena yet, and at worst Clinton “probably misunderstood” the question.

Salzburg played video of Clinton specifically saying “I’ve never had a subpoena” and said that line proves otherwise. Davis went off on Malzberg for only playing a snippet of her answer and, just moments later, said, “This interview is over.”

Malzberg spent the rest of the segment just going off on the Clintons and Davis, saying, “This is pathetic. Really pathetic.”
