Liberal Actor John Cusack Developing Rush Limbaugh Movie
Actor and outspoken liberal activist John Cusack is reportedly developing a feature film about conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh.
Cusack’s New Crime Productions told the Associated Press last week that the working title of the project is Rush, and that the slender 46-year-old star of movies like Say Anything and High Fidelity is set to play Limbaugh.
The production company confirmed that the script is currently being finished up. Former Emmy-winning actress Betty Thomas is set to direct. Her previous directorial credentials include family comedies such as Alan and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and Dr. Dolittle.
Occasional Huffington Post blogger Cusack was an outspoken critic of President George W. Bush and appeared in 2008 MoveOn advertisements against then-GOP candidate John McCain. In recent years, he has maintained support for President Barack Obama while attacking him “from the left” on issues like drone strikes and indefinite detention.
Production will reportedly begin some time next year.
