Limbaugh on WDBJ Shooting: ‘Journalists Might Want to Consider Arming Themselves’

limbaughRush Limbaugh reacted to the WDBJ shooting today by lamenting the rush to politicize and saying journalists should probably start arming themselves.

He brought up the calls for gun control and said, “Let me suggest that maybe journalists might want to consider arming themselves as they go out now.”

Limbaugh suspected there were journalists attempting to try and link this to “some political group with which they might not agree” before any of the facts were known. He suggested that the only reason the media cares is because it’s members of their profession that were involved.

“If you take out the vocations of the people involved,” he said, “if you had a couple of white people shot by a person of color, you might not even hear about it, and if you did hear about it, there would be maybe not excuses, but rationale. And we would be advised that it would be worth our time to figure out why the rage was there.
