Lindsey Graham: Trump Pardoning Manafort Would Be Seen as ‘Political Disaster’

Senator Lindsey Ghaham is once again advising President Donald Trump against doing something disastrous.
Paul Manafort got sentenced again today, followed by an indictment in Manhattan, and the issue of whether Trump could pardon him came up.
Trump himself didn’t say much about the idea when asked, but Graham told reporters it would be a terrible idea:

Sen. Lindsey Graham: “Pardoning Manafort would be seen as a political disaster for the President. There may come a day down the road, after the politics have changed that you’d want to consider an application of him like everybody else, but now would be a disaster.”

Legal analysts today noted that even if Trump does pardon Manafort, the New York indictment is “pardon-proof.”
