Malaysia Airlines Text to Families of MH370 Passengers: ‘None of Those On Board Survived’

In a press conference at the top of the hour, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced that analysis of satellite data showed missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 had gone down in the southern Indian Ocean west of Perth, Australia, and added that Malaysia Airlines had informed the families of the passengers that there were likely no survivors.

It appears Malaysia Airlines informed families of the passengers via text message. Adrienne Mong, of NBC News in London, tweeted a reported screenshot of the text message sent to the Chinese families, shown below:

“Malaysia Airlines deeply regrets that we have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board survived,” the tweet read. “As you will hear in the next hour from Malaysia’s Prime Minister, we must now accept all evidence suggests the plane went down in the Southern Indian Ocean.”
