Mall Security Guards Suspended over Video Showing Them Beating 15-Year-Old
Three security guards at an Atlanta mall have been suspended after video emerged of them beating up on a 15-year-old boy.
There was a confrontation of some kind outside the Mall of Stonecrest, and someone caught the security guards punching the teen (whose name is not being publicly released).
His mother said he’s been “traumatized” by the attack, while the family attorney called it a “street assault” and expressed disappointment the guards were not arrested.
They were, however, suspended, but DeKalb County Police are saying there are conflicting accounts from eyewitnesses, including the suggestion of “mutual combat” and how one of the guards was reportedly hit with a belt before the camera was rolling.
One of the suspended guards told My Fox Atlanta, “The entire story that’s being told is wrong.”
