Media Mystery: Which Late Night Jimmy Sent Christiane Amanpour Pizza?

Christiane Amanpour got pizza last week from a late night host, welcoming her to the airwaves. But WHO WAS IT?!

On Twitter, she reported it was NBC’s Jimmy Fallon. But Broadcasting & Cable says it was ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel. We have the answer!

TVNewser has the whole breakdown. And we have confirmed, from multiple sources, the pizza came from Fallon, not Kimmel, as Amanpour originally tweeted: “The #ThisWeek staff and I just enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch courtesy of @jimmyfallon. Thank you, Jimmy!”

Broadcasting & Cable has now updated their post, to reflect the correct late night Jimmy.

Now – why was Fallon sending pizza to Amanpour, on a competing network? John Eggerton thinks it might be to “boost Fallon’s chances of making This Week’s ‘Sunday Funnies’ segment featuring the political comedy highlights from the previous week’s late night show.” Or maybe…he was just being a good guy.

And where’s the food offering from Kimmel to his colleague? The mystery continues…
