Megyn Kelly Says She Has the Number One ‘News Show’ With an Extra Dose of Shade at O’Reilly

Although Bill O’Reilly defended his longtime Fox News colleague yesterday in an interview with Don Imus (“She is a very smart, talented woman“) after days of speculative shade, it seems as if Megyn Kelly lobbed a softball criticism of her own back at O’Reilly Wednesday night.

The Wrap‘s Brian Flood attended Kelly’s event at the Union Square Barnes & Noble in New York City for her new book “Settle For More,” and took to Twitter with the usual spat of updates for the event that featured Kelly and Charlie Rose.

Flood noted that at one point, Kelly was asked about her hotly documented pseudo-feud with Bill O’Reilly (O’Reilly recently dog-whistled the suggestion that Kelly was tossing Fox News under the bus while promoting her new book). According to Flood:

Flood also noted at one point that Kelly told the Union Square crowd she was asked to publicly defend her old boss Roger Ailes in the wake of Gretchen Carlson‘s sexual harassment lawsuit. She refused, according to Flood. Carlson will speak to 20/20 Friday night for the first time since her bombshell lawsuit was announced this summer.

Kelly has been aggressively appearing in recent days to promote her new book, including making the rounds on AC360, Good Morning America, and the TODAY Show.
