Michele Bachmann Says She Hasn’t Received Sign From God, Won’t Run for Senate

God works in mysterious ways.

Earlier this year, former GOP Congresswoman Michele Bachmann said she was talking with the Lord about running for public office again in light of Al Franken‘s departure from the senate. However, Bachmann gave an interview to End Times radio host Jan Markell this weekend, saying God has not given her a sign to go for it.

“I had a lot of people contacting me, people wanting to give me money and be a part of my team to run for a campaign,” Bachmann said. “But what I did is I did what I have done on every other time I thought about running: I took it to the Lord in a very quiet way, I took it before the Lord, I prayed, I tried to have my ears open and hear what God was saying to me.”

Bachmann has been asked about Franken’s seat ever since the Minnesota Democrat left office due to various sexual misconduct accusations leveled against him. Bachmann said this weekend that she thought about re-entering politics for a long time, but she did not see any sign of divine providence here.

“I went before the Lord and it became very clear to me that I wasn’t hearing any call from God to do this…I just had no sense from the Lord that this is something that I should do right now, so I’m not going to do it.”
