Multiple White House Staffers Reportedly Terminated, Reassigned Over Security Clearance Issues

Indications suggest that new a crop of White House staffers have been let go or shuffled to new jobs due to concerns pertaining to their security clearance.
ABC reports that multiple Trump Administration personnel, including someone who worked for the Office of the First Lady, will see their positions terminated in the near future. Some workers have already been fired, while other staffers are facing a final decision about reassignment or being relieved of duty.
Security clearance has been a significant issue in recent weeks, ever since Rob Porter‘s departure from the White House over multiple allegations of domestic abuse. Porter used to handle sensitive White House information with an interim security clearance, and his scandal held major connotations for Chief of Staff John Kelly. Much of this pertains to the questions about whether Kelly was aware of the charges against Porter, a close associate of his.
Kelly announced last month that he would make changes to the process through which White House staffers obtain security clearance. This was believed to be part of a crackdown to determine who should receive full security clearance and be permitted to handle classified info.
Jared Kushner, President Trump‘s son-in-law, was among those who lost his interim security clearance thanks to Kelly’s initiative. This has reportedly caused conflict between the two members of the administration.
