New NBC/WSJ Poll Shows Obama, Romney In Dead Heat

Ahead of Monday’s third and final presidential debate, with just over two weeks left in the race, a new NBC/WSJ poll shows the presidential race is tied nationally — with both President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney at 47 percent among likely voters.

The last NBC/WSJ poll, which was conducted prior to the debates, showed Obama with 49 percent, versus Romney’s 46 percent.

Among “the wider pool of all registered voters in this new survey, Obama is ahead of Romney by five points, 49 percent to 44 percent.” Obama leads among women (51 percent to 43 percent), Romney leads among men (53 percent to 43 percent) — and the two are “essentially tied” among voters in the Midwest.

RealClearPolitics, which compiles an average of the polls, also shows Obama and Romney tied.
