Newt Gingrich Assembles Conservative All-Stars To Celebrate ‘American Exceptionalism’

In case Americans forget, likely Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and his wife Calista are eager to remind you that we live in a unique and “exceptional” nation. In the trailer for a new documentary DVD A City Upon The Hill: The Spirit of American Exceptionalism, the patriotic couple gathers some conservative heavy hitters to warn that “our belief in American exceptionalism has historically been bipartisan, however there are signs that this is no longer so.”

With dramatic music, great cinematography and some especially robotic line reading from Mrs. Newt, one might easily confuse this trailer for Jerry Bruckheimer‘s next Transformers movie. However, never fear, as Donald Trump, Michele Bachmann and Andrew Breitbart appear with crowd-pleasing rallying cries to get the conservative blood flowing. Trump suggests we cherish American exceptionalism now since it could disappear, while Bachmann worries whether this generation will be able to pass the “torch of liberty” to the next generation. If there was any doubt, the 2012 campaign is now completely underway and with dramatic trailers like this it sure looks like it will be exciting.
