This Exists: Obama Nightclub Opens in Shanghai

Ever since way back when Barack Obama first won the Democratic nomination for president, it has seemed like everyone’s been trying to make some money off his name. Everything from Obama blue jeans to "Yes We Can-Openers" has been making money for people smart enough to realize that America electing its first black president after centuries of slavery and institutionalized racism isn’t just a great step for mankind; it’s a merchandizing extravaganza! However, none of those great ideas have been anywhere near as brilliant as the one hatched by the businessmen behind Obama Entertainment Club, a nightclub that will open in a couple weeks in Shanghai.

CNN Go has the details:

“Our friends over at SmartShanghai tipped us off to the April 26 soft-opening of Obama Entertainment Club, a new nightlife venture that is self-professedly “probably…the biggest club in the city…”
Them’s fightin’ words, and it’s clear from Club Obama’s inspired logo that it will be a force to be reckoned with on the city’s debauched party scene.

One strike against it is its location in The Garden Plaza residential complex out on Gubei. But counteracting this and any other potential drawbacks, the venue is named after the most glamorous U.S. president since Rutherford B. Hayes.”

When Obama was elected, many people suggested that international relations would improve as other countries would warm to him much more than Bush. Now, though, we know the real reason: It’s impossible to make a biological attack when you’re too busy dancing!
