Pelosi Scolds Boehner for ‘Inappropriate’ Netanyahu Invitation

Yesterday Speaker John Boehner invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress. The White House called it a breach of protocol to do so, and today Nancy Pelosi scolded Boehner for the invite.

Pelosi said it “isn’t appropriate for any country” to invite a world leader to speak before their legislative body two weeks before they face an election.

She also said in her presser that Boehner showed “hubris” by extending the invite, and found it “out of the ordinary that the speaker would decide that he would be inviting people to a joint session without any bipartisan consultation.”
