People Can’t Get Enough of This Statue of a Girl Staring Down Wall Street’s Charging Bull
Yesterday, a statue of a girl staring down Wall Street’s famous charging bull statue appeared:

The sculpture was put in place by State Street Global Advisors, an asset management firm. The goal, according to a statement from Ron O’Hanley, the company’s President and CEO, is to call on “The more than 3,500 companies that SSGA invests on behalf of clients, representing more than $30 trillion in market capitalization to take intentional steps to increase the number of women on their corporate boards.”
Kristen Visbal, who created the sculpture told the Wall Street Journal that the sculpture is meant to say, “Hey, we’re here” to the male-dominated Wall Street.
The sculpture was placed not coincidentally on the eve of International Women’s Day. People have been stopping by the sculpture all day and they’re loving it:

People have been stopping to take photos with it all day, and someone even put a pussy hat and red scarf on the girl. McCann, who put the statue there told AdWeek it will be there for at least a week, and they’re working with the city to make it so she can stay longer.
