Pope Francis Rebukes Bolivian President for Giving Him Communist Crucifix
Pope Francis publicly rebuked Bolivian president Evo Morales during a state visit after he presented him with a crucifix in the shape of the Communist sickle and hammer.
Morales, a devoted leftist, also draped the Pope in a medallion bearing the communist symbols in the presidential palace as His Holiness frowned. “No está bien eso,” the Pope told him (“That’s not okay”).
The Catholic News Agency posted a Vine of the exchange, demonstrating that the Pope was not happy with his gifts.
