Rand Paul Continues His Traditional ‘Airing of Grievances’ in Honor of Festivus
It’s Festivus! Which means Rand Paul has got a lot of problems with politicians, and they’re gonna hear about — on Twitter, at least.
For the uninitiated, it’s Festivus tradition to gather your friends and family and “tell them all the ways they have disappointed you over the past year.” Paul has a history of voicing his problems against the Washington establishment and his fellow politicians in honor of the Festivus holiday, and lucky for us this year is no different.
That’s right, it’s time for Paul’s annual Airing of Grievances: 2016 presidential campaign edition.
Good morning and HAPPY #Festivus! I will be airing my grievances soon.

Before delving into his problems with Washington, Congress, and the government in general, Paul took aim at his fellow presidential candidates, beginning with the Republican frontrunners Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
Where to start but @realDonaldTrump. If u bring the Yiddish, know what it means. Guess that’s more of a kvetch than a grievance #Festivus

My friend @tedcruz has still not pledged to issue exec order declaring Canadian “bacon” is not real bacon. Makes me suspicious. #Festivus — Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) December 23, 2015
He burned Ben Carson with a subtle jab at the candidate’s quiet demeanor.
I have no grievances against my fellow doc @RealBenCarson because I have not heard a word he has said in any debate. #Festivus

He simultaneously knocked Chris Christie and the Dallas Cowboys — Christie’s long-time team.
I think I speak for all in NJ when I say @GovChristie I don’t care how much $ u spend at Met Life, Cowboys fans should stay out. #Festivus

He hit Marco Rubio on his frequent absences from Congress.
to my absentee friend @marcorubio, I didn’t put your $170k+ salary in my waste report today. But I could have #Festivus
— Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) December 23, 2015
He paid his respects to his “recently departed” comrad Lindsey Graham.
I hereby retract grievance I was going to air about @GrahamBlog today. Respect for the recently departed #EarlyFestivusPresent#Festivus — Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) December 23, 2015
He balked at socialism and Bernie Sanders.
to my comrade @SenSanders: Unless you’re Santa Claus, Socialism runs out of other people’s money #Festivus — Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) December 23, 2015
And he aired a non-grievance to Carly Fiorina, taking the opportunity to instead diss Hillary Clinton‘s bathroom break at Saturday’s Democratic debate.
.@CarlyFiorina has ZERO trouble making it back from commercial breaks @HillaryClinton. Just saying. #Festivus#waronwomensrooms — Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) December 23, 2015
And finally, he made a low-energy insult aimed at Jeb Bush.
.@JebBush is always trying to change the debate rules to allow extra time for awkward pauses in answers. Not gonna happen. #Festivus — Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) December 23, 2015
If tradition holds, we can expect Paul to air more grievances later this afternoon, likely aimed at the rest of Washington and politics in general. It truly is a Festivus for the rest of us!
