Speaking on his radio show Thursday, conservative Christian radio host Bryan Fischer made extended use of a Civil Rights metaphor, claiming that the Democratic Party will force a lusterless President Barack Obama to sit in the back of the bus of party politics to make room for potential 2016 candidate Hillary Clinton.
“The mojo is gone,” Fischer said. “The thrill is gone from Barack Obama. The magic has worn off. And now Democrats are turning all of their attention to Hillary Clinton.”
Fischer was referring to Obama’s speech in Berlin last week, which drew a significantly smaller audience than his 2008 address as a candidate (though this most recent event was invite-only).
“In other words,” Fischer continued, “what you’re about to see, ladies and gentlemen, is Barack Obama is going to be kicked to the Democratic bus. This guy has now become a liability for the Republican Party—I mean the Democratic Party. And the Democratic Party is going to tell him to sit in the back of the bus. The front of the Democratic bus belongs to white person, Hillary Clinton.”
Since the 2008 Democratic primary, Republicans have labored to exploit any friction between the Clinton and Obama camps, an effort that has restarted now that Clinton is no longer Secretary of State and speculation about her possible 2016 presidential candidacy has increased.
