Robert Durst, Subject of HBO’s The Jinx, Charged with Murder

Robert Durst, the subject of HBO docuseries The Jinx, was charged today with the murder of Susan Berman, a friend of Durst’s whose death made up a major part of the series.

Durst was arrested Friday night and the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office officially charged him today. He’s charged with Berman’s 2000 murder “with special circumstances of murder of a witness and lying in wait and gun use allegations.”

The Jinx presented new evidence in Berman’s death, though the LAPD denies his arrest was linked to the show. In the final moments of the series finale last night, Durst was caught on a hot mic saying, “What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.”

Durst had previously been acquitted for the murder of his neighbor Morris Black, despite admitting he dismembered Black and dumped his remains.
