Roger Stone Says President Trump Should Pull CNN Off the Air

roger-stone-e1459202288292-1In an interview with Breitbart News Daily on Sirius XM Radio, Trump ally Roger Stone suggested that a Trump administration ought to shut CNN down because they peddle propaganda and censor reporting that does not suit their narrative.

The remarks came in the context of a discussion where Stone described stories that he said CNN had muzzled, in which Bill Clinton assaulted women and Hillary Clinton was instrumental in discrediting his accusers.

CNN, Stone averred, “is not an news organization but an advocacy group.” The network “will literally pull the cord on your microphone — they turn you off.”

“When Donald Trump is president, he should turn off their FCC license. They’re not a news organization; they’re about censorship,” Stone added, encouraging listeners to put their faith in a more credible source: his book The Clintons’ War on Women.

In February, CNN banned Roger Stone from making appearances on their network because of his history of making racial, inflammatory insults about their reporters on Twitter.

Stone’s comment echoes remarks Trump has made about retaliatory action he would take against news organizations whose reporting he does not like. He has said he would like to “open up those libel laws” to make it easier to sue newspapers who print unfavorable things. “If I become president, oh, do they have problems. They’re gonna have such problems,” Trump said, referring to the New York Times and the Washington Post.
