Obama Secret Service Agent Arrested After Allegedly Passing Out Drunk In Miami

CBS Miami reports that U.S. Secret Service agent Aaron Francis Engler was found early Friday morning passed out on the sidewalk in Downtown Miami hours after President Barack Obama left the state.

Local police noticed Engler passed out on the sidewalk while in the area for an unrelated call. According to the police report, the agent grew aggressive and hostile with the officers once they checked on him.

They then pinned Engler down to the ground and handcuffed him. While searching the agent, it was then that the officers reportedly discovered his Secret Service identification.

Engler told police that he was from Washington, D.C., and was part of the Secret Service team meant to secure the area for Obama’s Miami visit on Thursday.

After the president left town, however, Engler allegedly went out drinking to the point of passing out on the sidewalk.

The agent was unarmed, and police officially charged him with two misdemeanors: disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence.

He was reportedly released Friday morning and turned over to the Secret Service for return to the nation’s capital.
