State Dept Official: Hillary’s Use of Private Email ‘Not Acceptable’

A State Department official testified today that the practice of using private email while at State, which is what Hillary Clinton did, is “not acceptable.”

Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee today and was asked by Republican Thom Tillis, “Are we sending a message to anyone in the office that as long as you promise to give ’em back when we need ’em that it’s okay to have them hosted on private servers?”

Clinton’s team has said that all the relevant emails are with the State Department, but critics have remained skeptical. Barr said the process of recovering emails has “made it very clear what people’s responsibilities are with regard to record-keeping.”

She said, “I think the message is loud and clear that that is not acceptable.”
