Syrian Electronic Army Strikes Again, Targets Marine Website

The Syrian Electronic Army, a hacker group that has targeted a number of high-profile websites including The New York Times and Twitter, has struck again, this time briefly taking control of a Marine Corps recruitment website. On Monday the Syrian Electronic Army posted a message on the site about President Obama‘s “alliance with al-Qaeda” against the Syrian government.

Anyone who went to marines.com earlier on Monday was greeted by a message calling Obama a “traitor” who wants the U.S. military fighting the Syrian government when the two really share a “vile common enemy” in al-Qaeda. The message featured photos from the Armed Forces Tea Party Facebook page of military members taking a stand against U.S. intervention in Syria, and sends a message to “refuse your orders.”
