Taran Killam Recalls ‘Moron’ Donald Trump Hosting SNL: ‘It Was Not Fun’

President Donald Trump is no fan of Hamilton, and for Taran Killam, currently starring as King George in the hit Broadway show, the feeling is most definitely mutual. The former Saturday Night Live actor recently did an interview with Brooklyn Magazine. Killam wasn’t in the show the night that now Vice President Mike Pence was in the audience, but when he was asked about it, he said “I think it was really well handled, and I’m very impressed by how the cast handled it.”

When Evan Romano, who conducted the interview noted that Pence handled the whole thing well compared to Trump, Killam responded that Trump is a “moron.”

The conversation then turned to Trump’s hosting gig during his campaign back in 2015. Killam said, “It was not fun, and most of the cast and writers were not excited to have him there.” Killam also noted that “He struggled to read at the table read, which did not give many of us great confidence. Didn’t get the jokes, really.”
