Teen Reporter Surprises Pelosi by Grilling Her on NSA

If you’re a member of Congress talking to teens, you probably don’t expect to get any serious policy questions, but Nancy Pelosi recently got thrown for a loop when teen reporter Andrew Demeter grilled her about her support of the NSA and her vote to continue funding the agency.

Pelosi, seemingly caught off-guard by the question, said she does have questions about the NSA’s metadata collection, but has voiced disagreement with certain approaches in Congress she doesn’t believe helps. Demeter followed up by calling out her vote to continue NSA funding and asked how what the NSA’s doing isn’t a “clear violation of the Fourth Amendment.”

Pelosi insisted she does want to hold the NSA accountable but said that there are some things they do that aren’t really that bad.
