The Daily Show Will Have More of a Viral Focus Under Trevor Noah
The Daily Show is getting a digital upheaval under Trevor Noah, with the announcement today that former Onion digital director Baratunde Thurston is heading the Daily Show‘s digital wing.
Comedy Central’s press release today announces that Thurston will oversee “a new social and multiplatform initiative” the revamped Daily Show will have.
The late night show will be churning out “platform-specific original content” for fans to watch across multiple devices while still “keeping it organic to The Daily Show mission.”
Thurston reacted by saying, “This must be what it’s like to have Nick Fury call and welcome you to The Avengers. I’m honored and floored and so many other verbs.”
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah debuts on September 28th.
