Tourist Guide Killed by Lion in Cecil’s Former Park
A lion in Zimbabwe’s Hwange Park attacked and killed a tourist guide in full view of a group of tourists.
The park announced in a statement that “Quinn Swales was on a walking safari with six foreign tourists in Zimbabwe’s Hwange park when he was attacked by a male lion wearing a GPS collar.” The park has not yet made any decision about whether the lion in question, named Nxaha, would be killed.
Hwange Park was thrust into the spotlight last month after the park’s star attraction Cecil the Lion was killed by an American dentist, resulting in an international outcry.
