Trump Doubles Down on Threat to Networks: ‘Licenses Must Be Challenged,’ Possibly Revoked

President Donald Trump is doubling down on his threat against NBC, and the other major broadcast networks as well.
In a Wednesday night tweet, Trump suggested that he’s coming for FCC licenses.
“Network news has become so partisan, distorted and fake that licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, revoked,” Trump wrote. “Not fair to public!”

Earlier in the day, Trump ripped an NBC report which claimed that the incident which led to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson calling the President a “f*cking moron” was Trump requesting a “tenfold” increase in the U.S. nuclear arsenal. (CNN reported through three sources that an increase in nuclear capacity was not discussed.)
“With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License?” Trump tweeted. “Bad for country!”
Then, speaking with the press pool in the Oval Office, “It’s frankly disgusting the way the press is able to write whatever they want to write, and people should look into it.”
One network whose license is presumably safe is Fox News. The President is slated to appear on that channel’s Hannity on Wednesday evening. One presumes this topic will come up.
