In a video posted by NBC’s Katy Tur shortly before the start of the Donald Trump’s inauguration parade, the entire parade route is showing sparse crowds, with entire sections and bleachers empty.
As was reported earlier today, the inauguration ceremony at the National Mall attracted a crowd that was only a fraction of Barack Obama’s last two inaugurations. To that same end, yesterday’s inaugural concert drew a reported 10,000 attendees, compared to the 400,000 that the Obama 2009 concert pulled in.
Besides Tur’s video, there were other images floated around by those in DC showing the light crowds along the parade route.

Meanwhile, there are protests occurring close to parts of the parade route, with police confronting some violent demonstrators who had thrown rocks and broken windows along their protest route. Per reports, at least 90 protesters had been arrested, some charged with rioting.
