U.S. Teen Arrested at Airport for Trying to Join ISIS
An American teenager was arrested at O’Hare Airport by the FBI over the weekend for allegedly trying to join the terrorist group ISIS. The feds explained that Mohammed Hamzah Khan was attempting to fly to Vienna, then Istanbul, so he could walk from Turkey into either Syria or Iraq.
The FBI’s Chicago Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested Khan at the airport. The most recent estimate, from FBI Director James Comey, puts the number of Americans in ISIS around a dozen.
Khan appeared in court today on charges of providing material support to a terrorist group, and could face up to 15 years in prison.
