Was Chelsea Clinton Really Arrested for Protesting Keystone XL Pipeline?
Yes, nearly 400 people were arrested at the White House Sunday for protesting the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. No, one of them was not former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton.
That rumor has been making the rounds online since Sunday afternoon, most likely thanks to this photo, tweeted to Anonymous’ 1.2 million followers Sunday, of the first person arrested at the demonstration, who happens to look vaguely like Bill and Hillary Clinton’s only child:

The demonstrator was identified on Facebook as a woman named Mollie Wetherall by the Freedom Informant Network.
Despite the fact that this hoax was debunked shortly after it started to spread, NowThis News published an Instagram video on the arrests Monday evening, using the caption “Chelsea Clinton and a guy in a Captain Planet costume were among the 398 protesters arrested at the White House, demonstrating against the Keystone XL pipeline project.”
Powerful stuff that deserves attention. But again, this has absolutely nothing to do with Chelsea Clinton.
