‘We Love You’: Obama Praises Letterman in Final Guest Appearance

David Letterman is still making his way through the long goodbye until his final show on May 20th, with pretty much every single guest of his praising him and wishing him well. But tonight, Letterman’s guest is President Obama, and in a preview clip released by CBS, Letterman gets some rather high praise from the Commander-in-Chief.

“Knowing you’ve been there to give us a little bit of joy,” Obama says, “a little bit of laughter. It has meant so much and you’re part of all of us. You’ve given us a great gift, and we love you.”

First Lady Michelle Obama was on with Letterman last week, making an offer to help him raise his kids and telling him he’s gonna be fine.

(And just like with Jay Leno, don’t be surprised if you see the president making a brief appearance on Letterman’s final show…)
