You Idiots And Your Tide Pod Jokes Are Ruining The Life of Tide’s Social Media Person
It’s 2018, and we are still having to tell people that ingesting laundry detergent is bad.
Over the last few years, there have been several challenges that social media took too far (remember the cinnamon challenge?). The latest craze is the Tide Pod challenge — based on a terrible joke that simmered from the annals of the internet this year — where people upload videos of themselves eating the laundry detergent packets until it begins to foam out of their mouths.
Sounds fun, right?
As one can imagine this has caused a bit of a crisis for the poor person in charge of Tide’s social media, which is probably not what this person signed up for. Bloomberg’s Kim Bhasin brought to our attention just how bad a week this person is having:

The Twitter account was putting out fires left and right as users flooded the account with various health concerns about stuffing their faces with products that are DEFINITELY not edible:

Hopefully a new, less idiotic, challenge takes the Tide Pod challenge’s place very soon — for the sake of Tide’s social media person’s sanity.
