Bill Maher Rails Against University Protestors for Not Focusing on Other Issues in the Region: ‘Keep Marching for Hamas, Kids’
Bill Maher mocked university protestors around the country for not focusing on other issues in the Middle East that he feels are more pressing.
Maher hosted UFC President Dana White on a recent episode of his podcast Club Random. While the two joked about pedophilia and their Catholic upbringings, Maher used that discussion to pivot to the protestors.
“The Afghanistan culture — part of it — is we found out when we invaded and stayed there for 20 years,” Maher began. “There are rich men who have like 10-year-old boys. That’s just a thing you can get when you’re a rich guy; so keep marching for Hamas kids. You really got your liberal eyes on the right prize here.”
Two weeks ago, students began gathering on the campus of Columbia University to protest Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza. More specifically, the students are calling for the university to cut any funding to organizations affiliated with the conflict. Since then, countless other demonstrations have begun in other universities across the U.S.
Critics of the demonstrations — like Maher — have accused the protestors of being anti-Semitic and supporting Hamas, the organization responsible for the Oct. 7 attack on Israel.
Maher also claimed protestors supported Iran’s recent attack on Israel.
“Now they’re cheering for Iran because they just fired all the missiles at Israel,” Maher continued. “So Iran is the good guys? You mean the Ayatollah, the fucking black-hearted, black-eyed, bomb-planting dude that captured our people?
“I keep trying to tell the left this every week. The more you do crazy shit, the more you push the people in the middle to the right.”
