Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and billionaire Elon Musk got into a public spat on Wednesday after Musk accused the Democratic Party of being “openly & boldly antisemitic.”

After it was reported that around half of House and Senate Democrats were absent from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s controversial speech to Congress, Ocasio-Cortez reacted, “Just so we’re clear, Netanyahu has lost so many people that he is addressing just a fraction of Congress.”

She explained, “When this happens, they fill the seats with non-members, like what they do at award ceremonies, in order to project the appearance of full attendance and support.”

Musk then replied, “The Democratic Party has become openly & boldly antisemitic.”

“Hmm… sometimes being quiet is free and good for you,” shot back Ocasio-Cortez, along with a Wall Street Journal article titled, “Elon Musk Said Antisemitic Social- Media Post Was ‘the Actual Truth’.”

The post in question, written by Musk in November, was a response to an anti-Semitic tweet that claimed Jews advocate “hatred against whites” and want them replaced with “hordes of minorities.”

“You have said the actual truth,” Musk replied.

Ocasio-Cortez and Musk have repeatedly clashed on the platform formerly known as Twitter, which Musk purchased for $44 billion in 2022.

In March, the congresswoman mocked Musk for claiming that the Democratic Party wanted to “import voters,” pointing out that Musk was “literally an immigrant” himself.

In 2022, Musk accused Ocasio-Cortez of “hitting on” him after she indirectly criticized him in a post, resulting in the congresswoman expressing a desire to get rid of her Tesla.
