Biden Losing More Support to Third Party Candidates Than Trump In Michigan Poll

Supporters of President Joe Biden are more willing to jump ship to third-party candidates in November than Donald Trump voters, according to a new survey from Fox News.
The poll of Michigan voters found Trump only leading Biden in the state by two points, which is within the margin of error for data, but it did find Trump retaining more voters when the scenario was opened up from a head-to-head matchup to a five-way race.
According to the poll, Biden pulls in 37% support compared to Trump’s 42%, while independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. nabs 11%, former Green Party candidate Jill Stein gets 3%, and independent Cornel West gets 2%. Biden pulls 45% support in a two-way race, while Trump pulls 47%.
In the five-way race, approximately 77% of Biden supporters stick with him, while 87% of Trump supporters stand by the former president.
Trump flipped Michigan in 2016 and won but lost the state to Biden by about 3%.
The new Fox poll shows Nikki Haley shaving far more support to third-party candidates in Michigan if she’s the nominee. In a five-way race, Biden leads her 35% to 26% while Kennedy Jr.’s support jumps to 23%.
The survey was conducted February 8-12 among more than 1,100 registered Michigan voters by phone and through an online survey. It carries a margin of error of 3%.
