Fox’s Jeanine Pirro Warns Republicans on Abortion: ‘This Is Not an Issue They Win On’

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro had some harsh words and a warning for Republicans after the latest defeat endured by the anti-abortion movement.

On Tuesday, voters in Ohio voted to enshrine abortion rights in the state’s constitution by a margin of 13 percentage points. Pro-choice ballot measures are now seven for seven at the polls after the Supreme Court overturned the right to an abortion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization last year.

“The issue of abortion is one that Republicans either have to get straight on, or they’re gonna lose on it,” Pirro said on Wednesday’s episode of The Five. “They can’t ignore it. They can’t make believe it’s not there.”

She went on to castigate those congressional Republicans who are seeking to enact abortion restrictions at the federal level.

“They don’t have 60 votes in the Senate, so stop trying to pass federal legislation,” she admonished. “It’s not gonna happen. You’re creating unnecessary turmoil for Republican candidates down the ticket.”

She added, “Women want freedom, and what’s gonna happen is, dozens of states are literally gonna put these abortion initiatives… and they’re gonna win on that. And Republicans have to understand, this is not an issue they win on. This happened in 2022. It’s 2023, and 2024 is right around the corner. And so, all you have to do is throw out that word for Democrats. They want to defend it and it motivates them. And it only helps the Democrats.”
