Joe Scarborough Left Scratching His Head Over Trump Border Speech: ‘What Are We Supposed To Do With That?!’
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough called Donald Trump “lost and confused” and questioned the former president’s mental fitness in reaction to his border visit this week.
Morning Joe aired a collection of moments from Trump’s speech in Eagle Pass, Texas, on Thursday, and President Joe Biden’s dueling speech in Brownsville, Texas. The moments aired from Biden’s speech mainly included calls for unity, while the Trump bits were mostly his flubs.
“This is a Joe Biden invasion. Crooked Joe is the blood of countless innocent victims,” Trump said at one point.
Scarborough threw his hands in the air in reaction to Trump.
“What are we supposed to do with that!?” he exclaimed.
He and co-host Mika Brzezinski then simultaneously gave their reactions, excitedly cross-talking.
“I can’t even,” Brzezinski said.
“People are actually voting — Is there one person voting for that guy?” Scarborough continued.
“Truly foreign languages,” Brzezinski said.
“He can’t complete a sentence. He can’t complete a thought. He talks about Crooked Joe is the blood of countless victims. This is vicious violation,” Scarborough added.
The former Republican continued questioning Trump’s mental fitness by saying he’s “losing 18 miles” off his fastball.
Biden regularly faces criticism about his mental and physical stability, with critics especially focusing on his common public gaffes. There’s also concern about Biden’s age (81) as recent polling data has shown. A Bloomberg/Morning Consult survey of swing states found approximately 8 in 10 feel Biden is too old to be president.
Biden was recently found to be physically fit to serve after his annual physical exam.
Scarborough argued Biden offered “solutions” with his border speech and said it was Trump having trouble trouble keeping up. He compared the former president purposefully mispronouncing the name of California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) as “New scum” to a “five year old’s taunt.”
“He looks so lost and confused. He jumbles his words,” he said, adding, “this guy’s pitching 72 miles an hour down the middle of the plate. It’s not good.”
