Megyn Kelly Demands Apologies, Firings Because Reporter Slammed Trump in Deleted Tweet
Megyn Kelly on Sunday called for ABC News to fire veteran correspondent Terry Moran and apologize to President Donald Trump and adviser Stephen Miller after Moran posted a late-night critique of both men on social media.
In a now-deleted post early Sunday, Moran wrote on X that Miller “is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred,” and called him “a world-class hater” whose “hatreds are his spiritual nourishment.”
He said Miller’s animosity mirrored that of Trump’s, writing that the president’s hatred serves the purpose of “his own glorification.”
The post went viral before Moran ultimately took it down. ABC News announced later that morning it had suspended him.
“ABC News stands for objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage and does not condone subjective personal attacks on others,” the network said in a statement. “The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards — as a result, Terry Moran has been suspended pending further evaluation.”
Kelly blasted the network for not terminating Moran on the spot in a pair of posts on Sunday.
“Any actual news organization would fire him this minute,” she wrote on X.
Later, after the suspension was announced, she commented, “Suspended, not fired — it’s a fig leaf. Also WHERE IS THE MORAN & ABC NEWS APOLOGY TO @StephenM & @realDonaldTrump??”
Vice President JD Vance also weighed in, slamming Moran’s post as “absolutely vile” and symbolic of the media’s bias against Republicans.
“An ABC journalist @TerryMoran posted this absolutely vile smear of Stephen Miller. It’s dripping with hatred,” Vance posted. “ABC should apologize to Stephen. What Terry posted is disgraceful.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote of Moran’s post, “Last night, in a since deleted post, so-called ‘journalist’ @TerryMoran went on a rampage against Stephen Miller and called President Trump ‘a world class hater.’ This is unhinged and unacceptable. We have reached out to @ABC to inquire about how they plan to hold Terry accountable.”
