MTG Says She Spoke to Trump and Pleaded With Him to Meet Epstein Survivors
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) revealed Wednesday that she asked President Donald Trump to meet with the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse.
Earlier that day, survivors spoke at a press conference on Capitol Hill organized by Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY). In addition to talking about their experiences with the late sex trafficker, the women criticized Trump for his administration’s cooperation with Ghislaine Maxwell — Epstein’s accomplice. They also called out the president for the claiming the case was a hoax amid the wave of renewed interest.
Greene also spoke at the presser, cementing a clear break from the Trump administration when she said the FBI and the Department of Justice “hold the truth” about Epstein’s case.
Speaking with CNN’s Manu Raju after, Greene briefly touched on her dialogue with Trump on the matter:
GREENE: And this isn’t a hostile act towards the administration. The hostile act has been against these women for so many years now, and the hostile act is covering up for Jeffrey Epstein and everyone else that’s been involved in this; and that’s the real hostile act. I look forward to talking with President Trump about these women that I’ve met. I also encouraged him already this morning that he should have these women in the Oval Office. They deserve to be there.
RAJU: You spoke to him?
GREENE: Yes, I did, and I told him I’d be happy to set that up, arranging with their attorney by sharing his phone number.
RAJU: What was his reaction about it?
GREENE: I haven’t gotten an answer back on that, but I am continuing to encourage him that these are the people that deserve to be in the Oval Office, not any of Jeffrey Epstein’s rich, powerful friends.
