‘So Ridiculous’ Fox & Friends Mock Maddow, AOC, and Others Fearing Being Rounded Up If Trump Becomes President
The hosts of Fox & Friends found concern by Democrats like Rachel Maddow and others that Donald Trump would arrest them in a second term a little hard to buy into.
Lawrence Jones, Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade roasted MSNBC’s Maddow after she predicted on Monday evening that Trump would put her in a “camp” meant for illegal migrants if he gets back to the White House. Fellow Trump critic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also claimed she’s concerned about a potential arrest.
Kilmeade dismissed these concerns, noting that the former president said in his most recent interviews that he would be “too busy” for revenge against his political enemies.
“I watched over the weekend and the president was asked this three separate times by Sean Hannity, by Dr. Phil, and in another interview, do you plan on revenge for all the lawfare that’s been put here? He said, ‘I’m going to be too busy,’ [but] you can’t blame me if I did, and people were made at me last time that I didn’t with Hillary [Clinton],'” Kilmeade said. “So they took the second half of what he said, put a montage together, and said the president is out for revenge.”
He then ripped into the media, saying pundits like Maddow are not out to “cover” the election, but instead to “stop Donald Trump.”
Earhardt accused Democrats of already “weaponizing” revenge, accusing many of running on platforms partly build on promises to legally pursue Trump.
Jones suggested Trump critics are purposefully playing up ideas of fear and argued Trump’s last four years in the White House were proof he’s not interested in political revenge.
“So ridiculous,” he said. “One day Maddow is afraid that of the former president as if he went after [political opponents] one day during the first four years. It’s not like we don’t have a record to see of the guy.”
