‘This Was Not the Enemy’: Trump Press Secretary Reveals Alleged Culprit Behind New Jersey Drones

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt kicked off her first briefing by providing an update on suspicious drones spotted over New Jersey and other states.

Before she jumped to questions, Leavitt offered news “directly” from President Donald Trump on the dozens of drones recently being seen nightly, mainly in New Jersey, which have kicked off numerous conspiracy theories as local officials have been unable to provide any explanation. The large drones were spotted in the dozens and do not carry heat signatures, causing some concern among the public and state police.

Leavitt is the youngest person to ever hold her White House position at just 27 years old.

Leavitt offered an explanation on Tuesday, but only chalked up the activity to “research and various other reasons” approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). She also said some of the activity was due to “hobbyists,” something the last administration also said.

Some speculated the drones could be from Iran or Russia or even aliens, but Leavitt claimed on Tuesday that “this was not the enemy.”

“After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons,” she said. “Many of these drones were also hobbyists, recreational, and private individuals that enjoy flying drones and in time it got worse due to curiosity. This was not the enemy.”
