Trump Mocks Biden’s Autopen With a Portrait in the White House: ‘This Is Going To Be Very Controversial’

President Donald Trump has announced a new piece of art in the White House — a portrait of former President Joe Biden’s autopen.

The president shared the detail in an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, which published the full transcript of Trump’s conversation with reporter Reagan Reese on Monday.

“We put up a picture of the autopen,” Trump told Reese, who responded, “Oh, that’s hilarious.”

It is not exactly clear where the portrait will hang. The Daily Caller’s transcript said Trump showed Reese multiple versions of the picture and what it “will look like in the Rose Garden,” but portraits are not typically displayed in the outdoor space. Either way, Trump said the painting will be unveiled in about two weeks.

“I think the black and white — same picture, but black and white. Yeah, and I’m not using that one with the smile,” Trump told Reese, directing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Communications Director Steve Cheung to offer a sneak peek at the pictures. “I’m using — show the other one that we’re using because I like it. This is going to be very controversial.”

Reese responded by telling the president, “It’s going to be funny.”

Biden’s autopen has been a running joke — and a source of irritation — for Trump in recent months. The mechanical device, which replicates a person’s signature, was reportedly used to sign numerous executive orders during Biden’s presidency, raising concerns over whether the former president personally oversaw the use of his signature.

In March, Fox News reported its digital team “examined more than 20 Biden-era executive orders documented on the Federal Register’s office between 2021 and 2024 and found each had the same signature.”

The president, in a Truth Social post in June, made it clear he was not a fan of Biden’s autopen.

“With the exception of the RIGGED PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2020, THE AUTOPEN IS THE BIGGEST POLITICAL SCANDAL IN AMERICAN HISTORY!!!” the president said.
