TOTAL DISASTER: Elon Musk’s Trump Interview Flops Immediately with Tech Glitches, He Claims ‘Massive DDOS Attack’

Former President Donald Trump’s highly-anticipated X interview with billionaire Elon Musk on Monday was quickly compared to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ own disastrous 2023 X event after glitches and crashes prevented users from tuning in.
More than 30 minutes into the planned Trump-Musk interview, social media users were unable to gain access to the live broadcast, which displayed the notice, “This Space is not available.”

Please let Elon know we can’t join.

Anyone else not able to listen? Says unavailable

The X Spaces interview appeared to be plagued with similar issues to those that prevented users from tuning into DeSantis’ widely-mocked presidential campaign launch in May 2023.
Given that DeSantis tanked his campaign launch well over a year ago with a horribly glitchy X interview with Musk, you’d think X would have gotten its act together enough to ensure the same thing wouldn’t happen with this much-hyped interview.

Same thing as the DeSantis event from last year — Elon going to really have trouble convincing VIP people to do events like this in the future if this keeps happening

I guess Musk’s chat with Trump is going as well as his chat with Ron DeSantis went when he launched his campaign.
Who says you can’t fire loads of people and still run an effective website?? https://t.co/DK4C8ghbsd

At the time, the Trump campaign mocked DeSantis’ technical difficulties, taunting, “Glitchy. Tech issues. Uncomfortable silences. A complete failure to launch. And that’s just the candidate.”
In a statement, Musk blamed the issues on “a massive DDOS attack,” and promised that the interview would be posted later in recorded form.
There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on 𝕏. Working on shutting it down.
Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later.

Around an hour after the interview was scheduled to start, users were finally able to tune in, and the interview quickly drew more than one million listeners.
