Trump Supporters Accuse Ilhan Omar of Anti-Semitism For Calling Stephen Miller a ‘White Nationalist’
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) this week unleashed on Stephen Miller — a senior adviser to President Donald Trump and immigration hardliner reported having been crucial in ousting Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen — calling him a “white nationalist” in a Twitter thread.
“Stephen Miller is a white nationalist,” Omar tweeted Monday afternoon. “The fact that he still has influence on policy and political appointments is an outrage.”
Miller has rankled many in the administration and on Capitol Hill with his hardline views on immigration. He was the architect of the president’s disastrous first travel ban, a barely palatable spinoff of his proposed Muslim ban. Miller helped to limit the U.S. intake of refugees to a record low. According to a former Trump aide, he once said, “I would be happy if not a single refugee foot ever again touched American soil.” His opposition to Nielsen’s more moderate views reportedly facilitated her ouster, to the consternation of even Republican lawmakers. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IO) this week slammed Miller for ensuring the president has failed to deliver any successes on immigration.
Nonetheless, supporters of the president leaped to Miller’s defense in the face of Omar’s criticism, pointing out that Miller is Jewish and accusing Omar of anti-Semitism for suggesting his right-wing immigration beliefs make him a white nationalist.
Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) suggested Omar’s criticism of Miller was part of a pattern of attacking Jews with “name calling & other personal attacks.”
During my time in Congress before @IlhanOmar got here, I didn’t once witness another Member target Jewish people like this with the name calling & other personal attacks. In 2019 though, for @IlhanOmar, this is just called Monday. https://t.co/sgvsEvsj56

Don Jr., the president’s son, and Matt Wolking, a member of the Trump 2020 campaign, joined in:
I see that the head of the Farrakhan Fan Club, @IlhanMN, took a short break from spewing her usual anti-semitic bigotry today to accuse a Jewish man of being a “white nationalist” because she apparently has no shame. https://t.co/y96IG8E7Y6

He’s Jewish, and Ilhan Omar is a racist anti-Semite https://t.co/1wsvsrdwEL

Miller’s critics, including J Street communications director Logan Bayroff, defended Omar:
.@IlhanMN is right. Steve Miller is a white nationalist, as is Steve Bannon. You’re just their pathetic cheerleader and enabler. https://t.co/ZLaDfEedGp

Ilhan Omar: Stephen Miller is a white nationalist.
Overwhelming majority of U.S. Jews including members of Miller’s own family: Yes it’s true, he is a disgrace.
All of the white nationalists: how dare this Muslim contend that a Jew could be one of us. https://t.co/FCP1dUZQdJ

You have to be living in a serious bubble to think that Stephen Miller is not a white nationalist. https://t.co/c6IdI3J2Qy

Writer Elad Nehorai also replied to a writer at Breitbart, once known as the home of the alt-right, who had criticized Omar:
You are also a Jew. And a white nationalist. And run the largest purveyor of white nationalism online.
And the fact that you and Miller are Jewish doesn’t change that. It just makes it all the more sickening. https://t.co/n7AZ4sHOzu

Joel works for Breitbart, a white nationalist website.
Steve Bannon, former chairman of Breitbart, called it a “platform for the alt-right.”
When Milo worked at there, he collaborated directly with Nazis to publish their ideas on Breitbart.
